Liability Waiver & Medical Disclosure

1. Acknowledgment of risks

Participation in Taekwon-Do and related martial arts training, competitions, seminars and activities involves inherent risks of serious bodily injury, including but not limited to:

  • Physical injury from contact, striking, kicking, sparring or drills (including broken bones, sprains, dislocations, concussions and other trauma)
  • Cardiovascular and respiratory stress from intense exertion
  • Neurological risks associated with head trauma
  • Aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions
  • Psychological stress or emotional distress
  • Risks related to equipment or facility conditions

Participants assume these risks. No amount of instruction, supervision or safety equipment can eliminate all risk of injury or death.

2. Release and waiver

To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants release and waive claims against Woodbridge Taekwon-Do Inc., its owners, instructors, employees, agents and volunteers, and against the ICTF International Chang-Hon Taekwon-Do Federation (ICTF) and affiliated organizations, arising from participation in martial arts training — including claims based on negligence — except where prohibited by applicable law.

3. Indemnification

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the club, instructors and ICTF from claims arising from their participation, violation of safety rules, negligence or misconduct, to the extent permitted by law.

4. Medical disclosure & emergency care

Participants must disclose relevant medical conditions to instructors as appropriate for safe training. In an emergency, participants authorize the club and emergency personnel to provide first aid and arrange emergency medical care. Participants remain responsible for medical costs and should maintain adequate health coverage.

5. Minors

For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must read, understand and sign the waiver and related medical disclosure on the minor’s behalf.
